In cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the borough obtained three recycling trailers to facilitate recycling at convenient drop-off locations. Our goal is to increase the Borough’s overall recycling, and decrease landfill expenses.
Look for our new recycling trailers at the following locations:
Our recycling trailers can accept the following types of materials:
- Plastics, numbers 1 through 5 (when in doubt, check the recycling symbol on the bottom)
- Aluminum and steel cans (mostly beverage containers)
- Glass bottles, jugs and jars (no light bulbs, window glass, etc.)
- Corrugated cardboard (boxes) flatten and Place into slot marked "Cardboard Only"
- Mixed paper including office/copier paper, junk mail, magazines, phonebooks, newspaper, flyers, pamphlets, brochures, tablets, booklets, etc.
The following types of materials are unacceptable:
- Napkins or tissues
- Food
- Light bulbs
- Window glass
- Styrofoam
- Plastic bags
- Pens, pencils
- Clipboards
