Thanks to a collaboration between the Metro Community Health Center, the Wilkinsburg Police Department, and Dr. Buckley–our Director of Social Services–Wilkinsburg is proud to announce we have a food pantry serving those in need in the community. Seasonal and Rotating Opportunities

Homeowner Assistance & Repair Program (HARP) – Roof Edition!

For the third cycle of HARP, the WCDC will select Wilkinsburg homeowners in need of repairs or replacements for roofs, gutters and downspouts only. Our goal is to help stabilize our housing stock for current and future generations, preventing displacement and loss of homes. The application will be open until October 31, 2025. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by the end of the year with work slated to be done in 2026.

Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots is open for applications from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, 2025, online only.  Approval or Disapproval e-mails will be sent out to all applicants. Find all of the details on the local Toys for Tots website.

Salvation Army Christmas Programs

Families need to contact the neighborhood Salvation Army Offices directly.  The East Liberty (412-361-3614) and Homewood Brushton (412-242-1434) offices are closest to Wilkinsburg.  Case Workers and volunteers will help the families apply.

Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh Free Clinic

Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh are sponsoring a free clinic, October 24-25 2025 @ the David L. Lawrence Convention Center (1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15222).  Doors open @ 6:00 a.m., Clinic begins @ 7:00 a.m. – First come, first served basis. Doors close when capacity reached. Walk-in only, no appointments.

EmployHER Pittsburgh Program Kick Off & Opportunity Fair is Tuesday, October 28, 2025 @ the Penn Theater (149 N Main St., Butler, PA 16001).
